DAVANTI TYRES CELEBRATES THE SUCCESS OF LOCAL ‘GARAGE FOR GIRLS’ INITIATIVE
Davanti Tyres has announced its support for the “Garage for Girls” initiative, led by Island Tyres & Autocare, one of its customers based on the Isle of Man. The weekly workshop series, designed to equip women with essential vehicle maintenance skills, has attracted significant interest within the local community.

Launched in February, the programme quickly reached full capacity for a three-month period, with a total of 130 participants to date. The free, hands-on workshops provide practical training on essential car maintenance tasks, including checking fluid levels, topping up oil, and changing a spare wheel, along with other everyday vehicle care skills.
While aiming to build confidence and independence among women drivers, the initiative also serves a charitable purpose. Although participation is free, all donations collected during the workshops are directed to Victim Support Isle of Man.
As part of its support, Davanti Tyres provides participants with a complimentary “Glovebox Guide,” offering step-by-step instructions for key maintenance tasks. Attendees also receive a 10% discount voucher for Island Tyres & Autocare and a certificate of completion.
Sean Maddocks, Sales Director for Davanti Tyres UK & Ireland, expressed satisfaction with the success of the initiative, noting that empowering individuals with practical skills aligns with the company’s commitment to road safety and driver confidence.
Alex Halsall, General Manager of Island Tyres & Autocare, stated that demand for the programme has exceeded expectations, highlighting a clear need for practical, confidence-building workshops for women.
Davanti Tyres’ range of passenger car and commercial tyres continues to be available through independent garages across the UK and the Isle of Man.
