PROMETEON TYRES EQUIP THE NEW MMT EVO5 AS MM TECHNOLOGY UNVEILS ITS LATEST RALLY TRUCK

Prometeon Tyre Group, a global manufacturer of tyres for the commercial, agricultural and OTR sectors, celebrates another major milestone in its long-standing technical partnership with MM Technology, following the unveiling of the new MMT EVO5, the latest evolution of the rally competition truck developed by the Czech company.

The MMT EVO5 represents the latest evolution of MM Technology’s rally truck range. The Czech company is recognised as one of the world’s leading manufacturers and developers of rally competition trucks and was co-founded by Martin Macík Jr., a two-time Dakar Rally winner and champion of several other prestigious events, including the Baja Aragón and the Rallye du Maroc. The experience and data acquired by the MM Technology Factory Team and MMT client teams, also during this year’s Dakar Rally, have directly fed into the development of the new vehicle. Key upgrades include reinforced chassis components, a stronger cab structure, and a new shock absorber configuration developed in close collaboration with suppliers.

The launch of the new truck also marks another important step forward for Prometeon Tyre Group, MM Technology’s exclusive original equipment (OE) tyre partner. Every rally truck produced at MM Technology’s facility in Sedlčany is equipped with Prometeon tyres, highlighting a technical partnership built on a shared commitment to continuous research and development and ambitious performance goals.

This continuous innovation is the result of a structured, ongoing joint development programme. The close collaboration between Prometeon’s engineers, MM Technology and Martin Macík Jr. has driven the constant evolution of the company’s rally tyre range: from the original S02 Pista, designed for the most extreme conditions, through the development of the S02 Rally, to today’s S02 Rally EVO  ̶  the most advanced rally tyre ever developed by Prometeon.

The effectiveness of this joint development programme emerged yet again at the 2026 Dakar Rally, where MM Technology reinforced its standing as a leading manufacturer in the truck category. The company entered nine trucks, eight of which reached the finish line, while six secured places in the overall top ten. Both teams running on Prometeon tyres – the MM Technology Factory Team, led by Martin Macík Jr., and the ItalTrans Racing Team – finished the event within the overall top nine, once again confirming the reliability, durability and performance of Prometeon tyres under the most demanding racing conditions.

This development process continues relentlessly. In recent weeks, engineers from Prometeon and MM Technology conducted an extensive testing programme in the Tunisian desert, where they gathered valuable data to further refine both the tyres and the new truck ahead of the upcoming rally-raid season.
